The aim of the workshop is to discussion trends, directions and priorities in research relevant for Plain Language efforts. What has been done? What are the current trends, and what needs to be done? Invited speakers are Karen Schriver and Catharina Nyström Höög (Language Council of Sweden). All scholars with an interest in research on Plain Language are welcome to participate with a presentation. If you want to present, contact the organizers before 12 March 2017.

11.30–12.30: Plain Language and Plain Language Research in the US (Schriver)
12.30–13.40: Lunch break
13.40–14.25: Plain Language and Plain Language Research in Sweden, especially focussing on the role of the Language Council of Sweden (Nyström Höög)
14.25–14.40: Coffee break
14.40–16.20: Time for individual presentations (15–20 minutes depending on number of presentations) addressing the main topic for the workshop: “Future directions for Plain Language research”
16.20–17.00: Concluding remarks and discussion – Schriver & Nyström Höög
